Anyone can show you a season total. Every table here narrows to the slice that answers your question — versus two-high, on third and long, out of 11 personnel, after a play-action fake, in the games your starter actually played — and keeps the denominators honest while it does.
Explorers
Every stat family, one filter panel
Passing, rushing and receiving explorers share the same filter vocabulary, so a question you learn to ask on one table transfers to all of them.
- Match filters season, week, opponent, result, weather, surface, favourite/underdog, score state — and the coaching staff on either sideline.
- Play filters coverage shell, blitz, pressure, play action, personnel, motion, throw depth, separation at the target, route run.
- Splits break any table into buckets by down, quarter, coverage, injury designation or a dozen other axes, with per-game rates that follow the split.
Matchups
Week-by-week, down to the gap
Game cards pair each offense against the defense it actually faces, ranked on the stats that decide the matchup.
- Run Gap tool a fan diagram of rushing efficiency by O-line gap, with the opposing defense's numbers under it and the edge scored per gap.
- Coverage matrix what each defense actually plays — Cover 0 through 6, man/zone, one-high versus two — and how offenses fare against it.

What's in the data
Charted, not scraped from a box score
The core play-by-play is licensed charted data — a human watched the play and recorded what happened on it. That is what makes the filters below possible.
Coverage & shells
Cover 0–6, man versus zone, one-high versus two-high, disguised looks, and how each quarterback and receiver performs against them.
Route detail
Alignment, break type and depth on every pass route, plus a separation grade — including on plays the receiver was never targeted on.
Pressure & protection
Blitz, stunt, defenders in the box, time to throw, time to pressure, pocket state, and where the quarterback went when it broke down.
Run concepts
Zone versus gap scheme, the gap the run went through, defenders in the box, and yards before and after contact.
Expected fantasy points
XFP from a model over the play's own context, recombined through whichever scoring system you pick, so FP − XFP means something.
Participation
Snap counts, route participation, and team share denominators that use the games a player was actually on the field for.
Injury reports
Practice participation and game-status designations, usable as a filter and as a split — so you can ask what a player does coming off a limited week.
Coaching
Head coach, coordinators and playcallers per game since 2021 — filter or split any table by who was calling it.

About the Team & Charting Process
Our Process
FantasyPoints Data was the brainchild of Scott Barrett and Brett Whitefield.
Scott Barrett has long been at the forefront of NFL sabermetrics and advanced fantasy analytics, popularizing the now widely-used XFP in 2017, and inventing other now commonly-used metrics, such as depth-adjusted yards per target, pressure rate over expectation, and weighted opportunity. After writing over 100 articles as part of the “Metrics that Matter” series, no one is better equipped to tell you what matters most, what's most predictive, and what's just noise in the game of fantasy football.
Brett Whitefield is an expert in football analytics with over a decade in the business. He has held several key positions with some of the top companies in the industry, including as a process manager at Pro Football Focus (PFF), where he spent more than seven years, and as the COO and Analytics Director at FTN Data. Brett has also worked with and consulted for multiple NFL teams and Power-5 NCAA football programs. Through his years of experience, Brett developed the Fantasy Points Data charting process.
Our Story
We collect all of our data across eight unique charting processes, each one with its own focus. From participation to ball-location accuracy, all of our processes are designed to ensure accuracy and expediency, while still collecting the most actionable NFL data imaginable.
Every play from every game goes through our rigorous charting process to gather high-level football data points that can only be captured by watching the games. As a whole, our team has over 20 years of experience charting football games at various levels to make sure we are as accurate as possible and also capture the most relevant data to the fantasy football player and NFL bettor.
All of Fantasy Points data is collected or charted by our team managed in house. A growing team of over 20 people, we have a collection of full-time and part-time employees ranging in skill sets and expertise.
